I was slightly disappointed when I turned mine on and saw how little dog parks there were in the area. I knew there were more parks that existed than those that were coming up in my app. I wonder if the app relies on users adding parks and eateries. You can also read reviews of the places, but again, there didn't seem to be any reviews or photographs available of the places either. But it links you to each place's website so you can read more about it.
I decided to give this app it's fair go of it, and so I looked up a park that was a good half hour away from us and asked for it to give me directions, and off we went! We found our way there and completely enjoyed ourselves!

So my review - I think it's a great app, but I think until more people know about it and use it, then it will be lacking. It did tell me about parks and restaurants that I didn't know about before, and I think it would be great if you were on a road trip with your furry friend and didn't know anywhere dog friendly around you (exactly how Bailey used it when she mentioned it!). But for everyday uses in your neck of the woods, it's probably not the best tool.

ReplyDeleteI don't have a cell phone, but I'd be curious to see if it found anything near me. As far as I know, there aren't any. There's a walking trail that I sometimes take my boys to, but it's not really a park.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful idea. Our country would need more dog parks AND restaurants that allow dogs before the app can work here. Currently, here, in the country's capital, there are only 2 known dog parks. Bummer.

That was a really good review, my Mum is always looking for new places to take me and she is always excited to drive past places and see a pet friendly sign, she likes to mix things up for me, taking me to a park one day, a castle another day, a big lake the next, then a beach and maybe a dog friendly pub! We need that app for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe story about the poop is that I always do my business on the lawn, never anywhere else, even out on walks I wait for grass but my Furiend Ernie he loves to go on the patio and one day Sam (Denies Mum) just shouts out 'Oh no! Turd on the patio!' and Mum cracked up laughing, so now every time he does it we have to yell that out! I guess its one of those you had to be there kindda things, but we love to share! It stinks that you guys weren't able to see all of the parks available...I guess I'm lucky, since the app appears to have been created where I live. Perhaps in a couple of months there will be more info for you? I wonder if they have an android app too...
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of this app - but we aren't big on the dog parks around here. Mostly we learn about them from our training class on which ones are ok to go to. Thanks for the heads up though!

I'd love to have an app like that. We just take the boys places, and sometimes we are lucky (like bookstores) and sometimes we get kicked out of places.
