One day, I noticed the rug in the dining room was bubbling.
It wasn't like that the day before.
We lifted it up, and discovered a HUGE wet mark underneath the rug.
Could it have been a leak from the air conditioning? No, ruled that out.
Did Finn pee on the rug?
She had let us sleep in until 8am that day, a feat which rarely happens.
So maybe she didn't bug us to get up because she didn't need to go out?
We put down some paper towels and noticed that the liquid was not yellow.
Hmmm...hubby had played with Finn in the sprinkler the day before, she came in sopping wet and she had laid down on the rug to take a nap.
Ah ha! The top part had dried, but the bottom had not.
So, alas, we had to dry out the rug and weigh it down on the edges so it bubbled no more.
Now we dry her off after all sprinkler fun.
Heehee! I thought Finn was taking after me! My secret dream is to pee on everything in the whole world!
ReplyDeleteLicks,
Ruthie
I do like a good mystery - normally I would have blamed our cat, Daphne, for anything, but sadly the culprit is usually me, for everything - ha ha! x
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to solve the mystery and that it had nothing to do with pee! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad Finn wasn't in trouble! We dogs are always number one suspect when there are any wet patches :-( -woofs and licks from Magic xx
ReplyDeleteThe mystery is solved and all are happy. Have a wet free Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Finn....
ReplyDeleteMystery solved. Lesson learned!! ;op
Love, Raelyn.... And Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!
Whew... I am glad that it wasn't YELLOW... and that it was REALLY "THEIR" fault fur not drying you... pawperly. Isn't it FUN... when THEY are to blame. BaaaaWaaaah
ReplyDeletePoor Finn being blamed for having have a pee indoors...she may get her revenge :-)
ReplyDeletewhew mystery solved. Do the humans get a punishment for not drying you off? Well, go easy on them. I mean if they play with you in the sprinklers all is good.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Mommy says those chairs are beautiful! (Benji keeps chewing on our dining room chairs -- butt they aren't anything fancy like your chairs!) Mommy is so jealous -- one day we will have nice chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteHow dare thee, writer of Finny's blog... Finn would never have peed on the rug! Not anymore... anyway. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHuggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Phew - so glad it wasn't you, Finn :)
ReplyDeleteStewey

Nice investigative work! I could use you for some of the spots around my house that both Bosley and Erik mysteriously knew nothing about until I discovered it! :)

Good work on that mystery. That is probably what happened. Sounds like fun playing in the sprinkler.

Hmmmm, says Mr. Lightning, maybe there's an excuse I can use here.

Your like a sponge you soak of water and deposit it somewhere else. You need to be tung out before entering the house.

I have a darn rug also, but my rug is chewed on, I guess thats my fault for getting a cowhide rug haha
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you solved the mystery and that it wasn't Finn peeing on the rug. That would have been my first thought too.
ReplyDeleteDear Finn,
ReplyDeleteWater is good for playing with. I don't know why the people get so upset and say things like "stinky wet dog, don't come in the house". People are strange.
Licks,
Cobi
I love to play in the sprinkler too! Usually mom or dad wipes me off pretty well. But we have a different problem with our rugs. Apparently someone has been chewing on their corners. Wonder who would do something like that?
ReplyDeleteAmazing how much water a wet dog can hold! Drying off is a good plan--when we don't do it in our house, we have to sleep on towels because Lamar usually goes directly to the top of our bed when he's wet. Charming :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty nifty contraption you have there. We'll have to remember this trick.
