One Man's Junk

Our community was chopping up all the Christmas trees this weekend.

So, a whole community's junk...

became Finn's Saturday morning treasure!

We didn't put a tree up last year for the basic fear that we didn't know how she would react to it.  We're really looking forward to trying one out next year.  I am sure she will remember the heaven that is this smell!

  1. Lots of great sniffs in there for sure, Finn. We don't get to have a real tree because the smells bother Dad's allergies, but we all love that fresh pine smell.

    Have a great week, Finn.

  12. My guys LOVE sniffing the trees that are starting to appear on the curbs. Most are all dried out, so I think they are more interested in smelling all the smells from the house it was in. They could probably tell me if the house had a dog and/or a cat, what was cooked for Christmas dinner, etc.....If only they could talk ;-)

  14. She looks like she's really enjoying all those smells! I have a tiny tree my dad bought me the first year I lived on my own. I put it almost every year. I use that one rather than going out to buy a new one because Shiver would be scared of it and Chico would pee on it. bol

And i must say - I love the colour of your coat - such a beautiful red! So unusual...usually all the golden retrievers I see are - well, more "golden" - hee! hee!

  25. I think next year you should try the tree for sure. When we got our first tree about 7 years ago Tubby and Norbert and Ping where 3 2 and 1 and they didnt touch the tree. We also had a tree when Bob was a young puppy, no one has ever bothered it, not even the cats! I am very pleasantly surprised by that.

  26. I love to carry trees on our walk. I love to smell the branches on the side of the road! I love love trees. Mommy said we didn't put up a tree either, cause she was not sure what I would do. And she isn't even sure we will get one next year. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    Doggy Kisses,
    Tanner

I'm sure it smells of bugs and spiders and some body's pee mail. And if you like it, your hooman can plant it in your garden for your pee post!

  29. Looks like a great time. Carla and I recently went to SD, during a windstorm the Gopher and Squirrel watched closely as a discarded tree blew in the yard. When they went out they alternated sniffing and jumping it.
