My job has me traveling to various parts of the city to present our outreach programs.
In July, I went to Staten Island, and from the bridge, I could look back on downtown Manhattan, where most of the sites I take you to are located.
The NYC skyline is in the distance in this photo. The tall buildings on the left of the skyline is the new World Trade Center (It's directly in the middle of this photograph).
The rusted old bridge is in the foreground. I try not to think about that.
And in between in Brooklyn.
It's the same skyline that I showed you in my last post - I get to walk out of the skyline and look at it when I go out for lunch.
Once my husband asked me if I could see the skyline from my office window.
Love some of the old buildings. Have a brilliant Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I agree with Molly - I love the old buildings best!

I always like the glimpses of the Big Apple.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to see those pictures. You do have some good views. What fun. Hugs to that Finn girl. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMOM does like the old buildings. I just can't picture us living there, I need my space.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Those are beautiful. We don't have as many skylines in our country.
ReplyDeleteHuggies and Cheese,
Haopee
The thing my peeps like about "back east" is all the history, buildings, and culture. But we're not city dwelling type of critters so we only visit. Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Murphy & Stanley
Our mom is going to visit NYC in October. She says she hasn't been there in years so she's really looking forward to it!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and very interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteShame about the view from your office window though!
Our mom and dad love Manhattan but they haven't visited there since our human brudder was born. Thanks for sharing cool photos that inspire them. Maybe we get to go and see you in the future.

Mom visited NYC for her high school graduation trip.....about 87 million years ago...like in 1966. She says she'd love to go back again some day to see if she remembers any part of it.
ReplyDeleteMy Vickie came there for her graduation too. She recognizes xome of those pictures and it made her smile.

You live in a beautiful city. We've heard wonderful things about NY.:)

I always love it when you post pix of where you live. One day, I hope to visit NY. I'm sure it's nowhere near as glamorous as I like to imagine it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
That's my city! Good to see it again. We stopped through for a few hours on our long trip back from Switzerland the other day and I had a powerful blast from my childhood for a moment sitting in a pizza joint. Don't know if I could live there anymore but I sure love to visit.
ReplyDeleteGlad your Mom is getting out of the office box. Open air is much better for her :) Such an amazing skyline your city has! Thank you for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,

PeeS: Thank you for your suggestion about adding some more 'follow' options to the POTP site. Google Friend Connect and a more visible RSS feed have been added now. :)
Thanks for the photos. My mum visited New York in 1984. She loved looking at the tall buildings (and going up the really tall ones like the World Trade Tower) as she is from New Zealand where there are not many peope and the buildings are really short!
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Riley
Finn's Mom....
ReplyDeleteI have never travelled to New York City, but if we ever do, I will hunt you down like some stalker, hopefully evade getting arrested, and hire you as my tour guide!! Hee, hee, hee.... ;op

Great photos! Love the old buildings the most, such character. It seems like you work in a really nice part of town. I have never been to NYC but hope to some day. Thanks for sharing your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteSuka and K
P.S. Thanks for your continued well wishes for me, it really means a lot! Hopefully I will get better soon!
Those are some pretty neat pictures of the buildings!
ReplyDeleteI love historic buildings, they have so much character and detail that is lacking in modern cookie cutter buildings.
ReplyDeleteyuki and rocket
Such wonderful old and new buildings you get to enjoy! Beautiful view...well...except from your office! :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you getting to work in NYC. Totally jealous!
