Seein' the Sites

Okay, okay, I needed a break!  What can I say?  I do feel very refreshed, and before we get into a little of what Finn's been up to, first you have to put up with what I've been up to!

So, when I did my "Where in the World is Finnie's Momma?" contest, some of you said it might be fun to show you some more of the city, so I have been snapping away!

I worked a few days at the Waldorf and this awesome clock is in their main lobby.
I think it's from 1893!

This statue sits in Battery Park.  It once was at the WTC, and it was discovered after 9/11 as having been mangled a bit, and it was moved to the park shortly thereafter.

Lookie what else is right there!  Ferry to the statue anyone?

And this is the Customs House, also just a few blocks away.
I think this Rotunda is just beautiful.

Here's Federal Hall, where George Washington was sworn in as President.

And I just thought this was funny.  This is a telephone building up on 79th Street.
I just love how Verizon slapped a sign on the facade.  Classy.

Ok, so enough about me.  Finnie's been up to no good as well -

Ahar har har!!  We'll get to her.  Looking forward to catching up to all of you too!

  16. How could Verizon have done something so tacky? Well I suppose that shouldn't surprise any of us.

The clock in the Waldorf lobby looks so beautiful. I love clocks..each one so unique with their ticking, chimes, shapes...etc.

Thank you for sharing some more of your trip too.

  18. Great photos! Mommy says NY is too crazy for her. She thinks she saw Battery park once when she went on one of those double decker red NY sightseeing tour buses a few years ago. (I don't think she got off the bus though - she would get lost!) Thanks for snapping the pictures.
