Ending the Confusion

Hewwwow!  Finnackles here.

There seems to be a bit of confusion out there about my sex.
I guess you normally think of Finn being a boy cause you know...

Tori Spelling had a baby boy last month and named him Finn.

And there's a famous boy Finn.

And there's this famous boy Finn.

But see, I'm a GIRL.  And when people call me a "he" and stuffs, I try not to get upset, but sometimes it hurts my feelings.  :(  Momma said when she picked me up and Pops asked her what they should name me, she immediately blurted out "Finn."  She didn't think there would be so much confusion!  So please call me a girl from now on, ok?

National Taco Day!

Ah, yes, the day Finn has been sniffing about since it was announced back in August!
National Taco Day!!!

She smelt it as it came in through the door...

First, a little teaser in a corn chip.

"Can I have some salsa with that?"

Don't push it girl.

Then, we unwrap the deliciousness that is chicken and lettuce.

She dives in...

OMD.  This is so good.

Thank you Jazzi for hosting.

Momma's gonna sit back with a strawberry margarita now and take a mid-morning snooze.
Hope everyone enjoyed their taco!!

AND THE WINNER IS!

Thanks to all who commented for my giveaway over the weekend!!!  I enjoyed reading all of your comments.  I wrote everyone's name down on a piece of paper who followed the rules...

See everyone has their own nice little square.

And since we were away last weekend (more on that later this month) and I didn't have a scissor on me to cut up all the squares and do a drawing, I asked Finn to walk to me, and across the paper.  Whoever's name she stomped on, would win!  Little did I know, Finn was going to skirt around the piece of paper like five times before she stepped on it!  I even turned the paper around in circles and moved it all around so it would be a fair game to all!

And then finally, I pulled out a treat and she came straight to me!

Congrats Hoke from The Wild Westie!
We have emailed you, but haven't heard back!  Please email me at marianne(dot)d(dot)howard(at)gmail(dot)com

You will be getting a nice little package from Finn.  Thanks for following!

More of Seeing the Sites!

I was taken to lunch at the World Financial Center.

That little itty bit in the top right corner is the new World Trade Center.

And took some pictures afterward of this place...

Can anyone guess what it is?

Marketplace Monday - Dog Park Finder

I wanted to tell you about an app that Bailey mentioned on her blog for your I-phone.  It's called Dog Park Finder.  It's $2.99 to download and you have to turn your location navigator on so the app can find you and tell you what's around.  There's a setting for dog-friendly restaurants and dog-friendly parks.

I was slightly disappointed when I turned mine on and saw how little dog parks there were in the area.  I knew there were more parks that existed than those that were coming up in my app.  I wonder if the app relies on users adding parks and eateries.  You can also read reviews of the places, but again, there didn't seem to be any reviews or photographs available of the places either.  But it links you to each place's website so you can read more about it.

I decided to give this app it's fair go of it, and so I looked up a park that was a good half hour away from us and asked for it to give me directions, and off we went!  We found our way there and completely enjoyed ourselves!

Want to know why we are sitting
in front of a pile of bricks?
There was an Eagle Scout project to
replace the brick walkway!  Nice job!

So my review - I think it's a great app, but I think until more people know about it and use it, then it will be lacking.  It did tell me about parks and restaurants that I didn't know about before, and I think it would be great if you were on a road trip with your furry friend and didn't know anywhere dog friendly around you (exactly how Bailey used it when she mentioned it!).  But for everyday uses in your neck of the woods, it's probably not the best tool.
