But wait, a second look, a second feel, and there was...ANOTHER ONE. Ugh. Get the qtips back out - get in position to hold her down again, lots of "Yes, you're a goood girl, yes yes yes, gooooood girl." - Mission Accomplished.
I am being over dramatic of course. I am very lucky my boss loves dogs. And that my co-workers don't think I am crazy. And that Advantix works (I should mention here that my co-worker said they were practically dead, just clinging to the fur). Finn's fine - lots of treats and she's back to her old normal self - sleeping with her head under my table's leg!
Oh my, is that a tick? REally? My Vickie would die if I got one. Luckily we live in an area where there arent' too many ticks, no fleas, and we even don't have many misquitoes.ReplyDelete
But we do have that nasty old cheat grass. After every walk I have to endure half an hour of a body exam. I especially hate it wehn she has to check between my toes. But I am glad she does cause those bounders are mean.
Still rather have them than a tick.
OH NO not those blood sucking vampires! We have contracted tick fever once from an infected tick. It was bad & we were on medication for a loooooong time. Hopefully none of those ticks were infected. It only takes one infected one to make a dog sick. Hoomie Melissa just uses her fingernails to pull them out & she pulls them out quite fast. Usually after pulling them off of us, she euthanizes them. BOL!ReplyDelete
EEEEWWWWWWWWW!! Good detection skills, Finn's mom. And YAY for Advantix!ReplyDelete
Have a fun week!
-Gizmo, Bart and Ruby
That is not a nice thing to find - it would freak my Mom out! She checks me all over even when go for a short walk !ReplyDelete
Yuk Yuk Yuk! Dexter had a tick too last week which was found straight away but the human still freaked out, drama queen ;-) We use Frontline which has worked so far and we're having a bad year for ticks over here, that was our first one in 5 years so not doing too badly! Dex & Lou xReplyDelete
So glad you nabbed them....I can't stand the little vampires.ReplyDelete
I wouldn't say you're being overly dramatic at all! I've never found a tick on any of my animals but if I ever did, I'd FREAK!!! Glad you got them.ReplyDelete
Glad you got rid of them!
Kisses and hugs
Frontline leaves us mostly with dead ticks. Mom still does not like them.ReplyDelete
Woof! Woof! Weather has been horrible so be very careful. Be Safe. Lots of Golden Woofs, SugarReplyDelete
Wow, yucky, right?!? Well, at least the whole ordeal was worth some treats and some extra attention. Glad it wasn't worse.
Grr and Woof,
That is maybe the only nice thing about Arizona - ticks are seldom a problem.ReplyDelete
Those are such annoying little creatures. Ick! So happy your mom found them in time, but I know how uncomfortable it is to get them pulled off. My human has gotten some off me, but they were already balloons of my blood. She also had a couple on her she had to pull off, but they were still babies. Such an odd creature!
Glad you are O.K.! And so very jealous you get to go to work with your mom! How cool is that?!
