...A Silent Learning Toy...
(as the package says)
I gave this toy two VERY BIG thumbs up at first!
You hide a treat in between those plastic pods
(they slide over so you can squeeze one in).
And then the dog has to push them apart to take the treat out.
It kept her occupied for over an hour!
Over and over and over again.
And then, one night, we noticed Finn was playing with this toy for an extremely long time.
She chewed through the knot and separated all the pods out so she could get in between them a little better.
And now we give this toy two thumbs down!
Now, don't forget to start taking pics of your athletes for all the upcoming games, and remember to include a picture of them in the sitting position (or, if you can't sit, like the crabs, then you know, just get their picture taken!) for the Closing Ceremony too. You can start sending your pictures on July 9th. Send your closing ceremony pic to marianne(dot)d(dot)howard(at)gmail(dot)com
Haha! What a smart girl you are, Finn!ReplyDelete
So clever you are, Finn ! Great job!ReplyDelete
Clever Finn you worked it out , bright as a button! Have a good Friday!ReplyDelete
Best wishes Molly
Now that was one smart move, Finn!ReplyDelete
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Gruff Respect there to you Finn! I marvel at your cunning strategy and skill there - you couldn't give me any tips could you? Mummy2Legs - get that picture sent over prompto - the Olympics are starting soon! Love Barnie xReplyDelete
Finn! You are so smart to undo the knot on the end -- you are smarter than the toy manufacturers! We've been trying to work on our sit pose all week but the camera doesn't want to snap in time when we are both sitting at the same time(for a split second). We will keep working on it.ReplyDelete
Ha-ha! Well I guess it was good while it lasted!ReplyDelete
Two thumbs down? I am not, by any means, judging you, but.... The way that Finn pulled apart her toy was actually quite smart!! ;op
Love, Raelyn.... And Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!
I think that thingy could be kinda DANGEROUS beclaws the disc thingys are small and could be SWOLLOWED.. Yep.. two paws DOWN... BUTT.. Way to GO FINN Girrrrrrl fur alerting us to the design flaw.ReplyDelete
PeeS... Re:Swimming... YESSSSSSSSSSS Blue POOL Swimmmin is fur sure a grrrrreat thingy fur Sarge's Event!!!! ANY Water... as long as there is none of that stinky SHAMPOO stuffs involved...BaaaWaaaaah.
That's pretty smart though! We haven't met a toy that doesn't require constant supervision, especially with Sam around. He's sort of like that kid that peels the stickers off the Rubix cube and sticks them back on like he solved the puzzle...ReplyDelete
She is a smart girl to figure out how to untie that knot on the end to make it easier to get the treats. That is something the Denny would do too.ReplyDelete
Awww hahaha. Finny, you seem to be a tad fixated with those toys.ReplyDelete
Maybe you need something with the extra strength/durability mark on it just to make sure Finny doesn't destroy it in a single night.
Huggies and Cheese,
I give Fin two paws up for being so smart.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much for your concern and thoughtsReplyDelete

Pees; Help get the info out to all your blogger buddies, many don't see our posts. This is very serious, but if fiund quickly it can be cured
What a cool toy!ReplyDelete
Though rope chewing is definitely something Elka does every time a toy involves a rope. We had an udder tug, and she didn't care about the rubber at all. Just the rope.
I think that toy is too dangewoos..thank dog youw Mom saw that it came apawt and you didn't swallow ow choke on it
Oooh, I do hope my Mommi wemembews and I can pawticipate in those Olympicses
You are a very smart pup! Good job finding an easier way to get those yummy treats! My human agrees with your mom, though. I have been know to swallow items the size of those pods, so if I had that toy and tore it apart as you did, I may have swollowed one (or more) of those pods. So yes, my human says "thumbs down" too. Too bad, because it looks like a very fun, and smart, toy.
One time we bought a toy a K9 friend. It was guaranteed to have been tested by Zoo animals for strength. Our Newfie friend destroyed it in about 5 minutes. Nothing is tough enough when one is determined.
BOL smart girl! I'd just chew through the plasticReplyDelete
Hmm... That toy looks kind of cool, although I assume Desmond would do the same thing Finn did, if not just plain chew the plastic. I like the idea though. Maybe we'll try it.ReplyDelete
That will teach them to make it too hard Finn.ReplyDelete
Looks like it was fun while it lasted!ReplyDelete
Your pal, Pip
BOL! Sounds like something I would do!ReplyDelete
I'm just glad you didn't eat any of those little tubes. That is somethign I would do and exactly the reason I don't get to have educational toys.ReplyDelete
Dang it all. I gotta learn when the time for learning ends and the time for eating starts.
Hello dear Finn,ReplyDelete
what a curious toy, but yes it could be dangerous for us!!
Have a great weekend.
I'm glad it didn't hurt you.ReplyDelete
The Olympics is going to be such fun.
Love and licks, Winnie
Glad Finn liked it and didn't swallow any plastic pieces.ReplyDelete
Have a good weekend!
Your one smart cookie Finn, but I'm glad you didn't get hurt! :)ReplyDelete
Sure it was a fun toy... for an hour!ReplyDelete
Kisses and hugs
Well you worked that one out Finn! Pleased you didn't eat any bits.ReplyDelete
Have a great weekend
Big Nose Pokes
Finn cracked me up, trying to make more room between the pods! That's something my dad's beagle would do.ReplyDelete
I talk to your dog swap partner regularly so I do know that she's done all of your shopping. I even know some of what she got for Finn. She's just started a new job in addition to working another, so she hasn't had time to get your package mailed out. I'm sure she'll get on that soon though.
I suspect it wouldn't last too long in my house. I think I could chew through the rope in under 15 minutes.ReplyDelete
You are very smart Finn, I hate those tricky toys!! bolReplyDelete
You are so clever.ReplyDelete
Careful though not to swallow any of the parts.
You are just too clever with those toys, Finn!ReplyDelete
I've seen this toy and didn't buy it because I worried that what happened to it with you, would happen to us--I'm just glad that no parts were swallowed in the review of this toy... :-)ReplyDelete
You outsmarted the toy Finn!!! You sure are smart!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBugReplyDelete
You can't fool a Golden, they are just so smart! LOLReplyDelete
And the cute pic on the last post, a Golden being patient with her chin on the table, ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!!
Too bad...lol. That is exactly what would happen in our house except the pods and rope probably would have been chewed and swallowed. :)ReplyDelete
You're funny Finn! Don't you love it when you outsmart the hoomans?ReplyDelete
Dunc does the very same thing. Except with great guilt. If I notice him playing with a toy too long and too quietly it means he's begun the slow dismantling process. At that point all I have to say is, "Roo, play nice with your toy." At which point he begins grooming it softly, licking it all over while looking up at me with the biggest, guiltiest eyes. That usually buys the toy an extra day or so.ReplyDelete
Hey, maybe I need to blog about this, too! Hmmmm. :)
