Darn Rug.

One day, I noticed the rug in the dining room was bubbling.

It wasn't like that the day before.

We lifted it up, and discovered a HUGE wet mark underneath the rug.

Could it have been a leak from the air conditioning?  No, ruled that out.

Did Finn pee on the rug?
She had let us sleep in until 8am that day, a feat which rarely happens.
So maybe she didn't bug us to get up because she didn't need to go out?
We put down some paper towels and noticed that the liquid was not yellow.

Hmmm...hubby had played with Finn in the sprinkler the day before, she came in sopping wet and she had laid down on the rug to take a nap.
Ah ha!  The top part had dried, but the bottom had not.

So, alas, we had to dry out the rug and weigh it down on the edges so it bubbled no more.

Now we dry her off after all sprinkler fun.

  2. I do like a good mystery - normally I would have blamed our cat, Daphne, for anything, but sadly the culprit is usually me, for everything - ha ha! x

  15. Good work on that mystery. That is probably what happened. Sounds like fun playing in the sprinkler.
I have been asking around about someone that does the TNR up there on Long Island but so far no answers. I will do some more work on it soon.

  26. Dear Finn,

Water is good for playing with. I don't know why the people get so upset and say things like "stinky wet dog, don't come in the house". People are strange.

  27. I love to play in the sprinkler too! Usually mom or dad wipes me off pretty well. But we have a different problem with our rugs. Apparently someone has been chewing on their corners. Wonder who would do something like that?

  28. Amazing how much water a wet dog can hold! Drying off is a good plan--when we don't do it in our house, we have to sleep on towels because Lamar usually goes directly to the top of our bed when he's wet. Charming :)
