Operation Phat - Secret Path Continues

Some of you asked in my last Operation Phat post what this was referring to.  See, Finn's vet told us she was a tad chunky and so we needed to give her more exercise and less treats.  Since I am not going to call Finn "fat" we decided to call her "phat."  'Cause she's so cool!

So, when last we were walking we decided to stay to the left.  Well, we went to check out the right one day...

Here is the infamous intersection.
Last time, we went to the left.  Here, we are heading to the right.
Just a lot of woods!
And another intersection!
We decided to head to the right again.
Where are we???
We walked on for a good bit, walking in circles essentially!  It's nice to have a group of trails so close by!  And on the way in from our little escapade, we saw two deer, who ran from us fast, so we didn't get a picture of them.  And when we got home, we checked ourselves for ticks.  We've been back in these woods a couple of times now and she seems to love it!  Operation Phat continues!

  4. Glad you didn't run into those scary dirt-bike drivers again on the mystery trail. I think all vets are supposed to say all doggies are chunky -- it's their job.

  5. I bet Finn is having a great time exploring and doesn't even know she is exercising!

  6. Yuck, diets! Why is everybuddy on a diet? Your walking trails look like fun, though. Next time I think you should do "left right left" on all your intersection choices.

  7. You don't look Phat to us but all that walking is so good for all of you and probably fun back there in the woods. Good luck with the darn diet. Take care.

  16. I knew Finn was Phat all along. She is a very cool dog and I do not see why someone would use the word fat to describe Finn. I think I would love to take a Phat stroll in your woods. They look like a lot of fun.

  20. Finn I think you and I must have the same V.E.T. At my yearly check up in July my V.E.T. said the D word....if I had not been in my carrier I would have had his finger for a snack.

I was thinking,Dang Dr. S they are already starving me and you want them to cut back some more? All because I gained .2 oz since last year.

  21. Vets are all starting to say the dreaded D word- what do they have against us? Just because we need to nap a lot and snack a lot, and walk alot!

  22. WHAT! We all on a diet or what around here.... What's up with that? I thought winter was when we should be hibernating and storing up food. Think it's because our summer here in NY has been so hot we can't do too much. So crud.... DIET!!!! Let's start a protest and say YUCK to green beans in our kibble.

  25. I love that - Operation Phat instead of Fat. You should just tell the vet that more weight means more of Finn to love and go around!

That's a really pretty trail! There's one near my house that I take the boys to now and again, but it looks nothing like that. There aren't any woods there.

  35. Hmmm, how does that one poem go? "As I was sniffing through the woods one snowy night, upon two paths I did come, I peed on a tree, then went many miles before doing sleepings."

    Yeah, that's how it goes!

    Love,

  36. You sure have some nice trails. Finn is a lucky dog, (except for the treat cutback).

We love to walk in the woods too. You have to watch for ticks, but you get the benefit of the cooler shade.
