Ending the Confusion

Hewwwow!  Finnackles here.

There seems to be a bit of confusion out there about my sex.
I guess you normally think of Finn being a boy cause you know...

Tori Spelling had a baby boy last month and named him Finn.

And there's a famous boy Finn.

And there's this famous boy Finn.

But see, I'm a GIRL.  And when people call me a "he" and stuffs, I try not to get upset, but sometimes it hurts my feelings.  :(  Momma said when she picked me up and Pops asked her what they should name me, she immediately blurted out "Finn."  She didn't think there would be so much confusion!  So please call me a girl from now on, ok?

  1. Ok, we hope we have not made the mistake. Our mom tends to think of all dogs as hes since she has so many boys. Huckleberry Finn is one of her favorite books and Finn seems like a boy or girl name to us

  7. Finn I'm sorry that happens to you. People often get confused when names can be boy and girl names. Bailey gets that all the time, too. People always think he's a girl because there are so many famous girl Bailey's. Bailey was the name his first family gave him and when we rescued him he was already answering to it. We really didn't know the name would be an issue and with so many other big changes in his and ours we weren't comfortable changing it since he already answered and responded to his name.

Sometimes you just have to be patient with people. I know most of the people that get Bailey's gender confused don't mean to hurt his feelings.

  11. We thinks you are a beautiful girl Finn. And even though your name sounds like our Fen's we do know the difference. Poor Artemisia has the same problem, since the people usually use her nickname Arty Mouse lots of people refer to her as a he instead of a she.

  12. Hey GIRLfriend! Hee hee. We always thought Finn was a girl's name. :)
People often mistake ME for a boy too. So Mommy left my fur long hoping that would give out the hint that I'm a girl but NOOOOOOO. Hahaha.

  13. We love the name FINN and always think of you in the most feminine of terms. Our last name gets mispronounced a lot and we giggle and have made a list of all the silly pronunciations. No worries, beautiful!!

  16. We had the same problem with our girl, Cisco. Mom didn't realize it was more a male name when she picked it, but had to go through all of Cisco's life with people thinking she was a boy, or even worse, spelling it CRISCO!

  22. We figured out you were a girl, but at first we did think you might be a boy. Because we have a friend with a male collie named Finn. Our boy Ryder is often mistaken for a girl.

But you are definitely a beautiful girl!

  25. Finn (The GIRL!!)
    Dude, I am waaay behind on this Blog!! I wonder what happened.... ? ;-}
I feel your frustration, GIRL. Everybody almost always referred to my first mutt, Shadow as "he", or "him". I would correct them, until finally giving up. It was no use!! Sigh....
Anyway. May I make a confession, please? I thought--for the longest time!!--that you were a boy. Until I learned!! Now, I try very, very hard in remembering!! However. In my own defense I do suffer from premature short-term memory loss. So I may occasionally forget.... ;op
Love, Raelyn.... And Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!

  26. Okay, we understand. SHE has a traditional boy's name spelled differently, but SHE is always having to explain.

We love ya Finn....at first we thought you were a boy, but all the feminine pronouns put us right.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

Bella and I, Daisy, always get called 'Jock' on the street.

  29. We knew you were a girl so we hope we never called you a boy! So many people think I, Murphy, am a girl! Mom says it is because I am so gentle natured that they assume I am a girl. So I know how you feel!

    Murphy & Stanley

  30. Oh no, sorry if we have made that mistake! I personally LOVE the name Finn (and yes said I would use it for a boy's name if I ever had a son) but I also like names that crossover. We have a Golden named Piper everyone thinks is a girl...but HE'S not!

  31. I get called a boy sometimes too! Odd, considering Nola sounds pretty girly. I'm also confused ALL THE TIME that my name is Lola
    Nola

  32. We think we were confused in the beginning too and are so sorry if we thought you were a boy. We never forget now that you are a girl and a very pretty one too.

  33. I understand completely. Casey is a name that can go either way, but lately there are more girls than boys with it. I get asked if I'm a girl ALL the time, and it's so annoying! Don't worry, I always know you're a grrl.

  34. Our apologies if we have accidentally made that mistake!! You know, right now we have a BOY named Sandy who has that same thing happen to him--And we've had GIRLS named Rudi, Reggie and Charlie and people even thought our boy Scout was a girl. So we know how those things can happen--I do like the name Finn, and think it fits you perfectly!

  42. Oh - I apologize in case I've ever referred to you as a boy. I know how frustrating that is as Blueberry often gets mistaken for a boy too. Finn is a girl. Got it! Sorry! :)

  43. Finn, we know how you feel about people calling you by the wrong gender. It's really ruff for me too since my nickname is Lassie -- and Lassie is a girl's name. I feel your pain. Hang in there girl.

  44. Hi Finn, you look like a girl, sadly so do I and I always get called a girl when I'm out walkies with Mum, it may be because I'm just too cute to be a boy but I feel you buddy, Im glad you stopped all the confusion there, see you over at your new blog address and you are so very welcome for the nomination at Molly's, you are an interesting charecter little finnackles and even tho Mum is was lazy on comments right now, we both still read your blog and visit you!
